Vick's own pronouncements and his mother sobbed outside the mansion her son bought for her in Suffolk, Virginia.
"It is tough on everybody," she said. "They are trying to put my baby in jail, and for what? Everybody makes mistakes. Everybody deserves a second chance.
"He has given his life over to God. He is not a criminal, he's a good person. He has a big heart, and it just hurts."

For the Record: I think Vick is a scum bag that should go to prison, be banned from any sport that pays for life and have all of his assets confiscated, liquidated and then distributed to animal rescue groups.
After serving a lengthy prison term he should be release homeless on the streets and left to beg for his daily sustenance.
I didn't want to expose my view until some answers had come to light.

Giving ones life to Christ does not mean that you avoid facing the consequences of your actions on Earth. I am a Christian, and if Vick did give his life to Christ, that's great, but that isn't a get out of jail free card.

I think when Vick's dogs return some of his "action" to him and gives him some of his own treatment three-fold, THEN he'll have paid his debt to society. People often "find God" when they've been caught being bad. Jeez louise, people, Paris freakin' Hilton found Jesus in jail (though there's no report on how she pronounced the name...she may have thought he was her cook.) but does that mean she's turned over a new leaf and has started treating people with respect, love and compassion? Nope, she's selling her clothes for big bucks but I don't see THAT cash going to the needy.......I don't see her going to soup kitchens and feeding the homeless or taking care of AIDS patients - nor do I see Vick showing any signs of taking responsibility. *shrugs* Giving one's life over to God does not make someone a GOOD person - it is lip service until they actually DO something to prove it. That can also be done in PRISON.
Like....oh, say....SERVING your sentance....there's a novel idea!

LOL! No one can really believe that BS, can they? He misses his job as a quarterback, and wants his fans to get suckered into his plot, to make the NFL cancel his suspension! The man is evil, for what he did to innocent animals who could never fight back. Suddenly a few days later, he's found God. LMAO! I think God himself is Laughing His A off at Michael Vick, right now! The audacity of this man!

Is this like how Paris Hilton found God and carried a bible around but couldn't name a favorite passage.
All animals are to be loved, this is what God meant when he gave us dominion over animals. domesticated animals especially dogs/cats are like children they depend on us to feed them, shelter them and love them. They don't judge us whether we are fat, thin, ugly, pretty or what race we are. They give us unconditional love if we treat them right.
This guy had what a 20 million signing bonus, 100 million contract had multi-million deals with ad agencies but he chose to be cruel and inhumane. He can apologize all he wants and say he found God but he deserves a long jail sentence and his career to be over permanetly.
The problem is they apologize because they got caught not because they are repentent.

Oh according to the Christian folks, he'll be free one day in heaven while us atheists who've never harmed a dog or a human will burn in hell for eternity. If Vick found Jesus he can keep him as far as I'm concerned.

Rather he has found Jesus Christ Lord or not he should still serve whatever sentense the judge set for him. That's just the law.
And for all the ravenous wolves the bible also says:
Mat 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Karla Fay Tucker was "saved" yet she was executed. You may claim to be a born-again Christian and have changed for the good, but you still have to answer to your crimes. Vick will do the same, granted he doesn't get any special treatment because he's a celeb.

definite, Jesus replaced into hiding at the back of the kennels the entire time ! heavily, maximum of criminals play the Jesus card while they get caught or are up for parole. Why ought to i think it ? enjoying the "Buddha" card or the "Goddess" card does no longer get a criminal squat, so as that they faux to locate the religion this is maximum probable to get them favorable therapy, and in usa, that must be Christianity. they may be enjoying the "Allah" card in the event that they have been in a predominantly Muslim u . s . a .. between the Manson murderers tried to play the Jesus card, yet fortuitously she replaced into denied early launch.

The only thing he is sorry about is being caught. As far as finding God, that's bogus. Any mother would cry.

I can understand a mother feeling that way, but no, if he's sentenced to jail time he needs to serve it.
