The best thing to do is to keep yourself as calm as possible. Try to respond to all of the things that they are saying in a logical, polite way. Eventually they will run out of steam and hopefully start listening to you. If this is someone that you have an ongoing relationship with, try laying some ground rules for future serious discussions.

I dont know the situation but if someone is about to yell at you NO matter what you have done ... I will warn you its hard to do this but it works for me ... If you can ... sit there let them yell all they want blah blah blah and just stare at them ... with a blank face NO expression !!! that is the key ... no expression !!! let them "blow off steam" and then talk to them ... because if you talk to them while they are mad then most likely it will either end in a fight or nothing will be resolved ... they are alot more likely to sit and listen to what you have to say if they have gotten their point in first ... hope it works ... it does take alot of self control but its worth a shot ... it kinda lets them feel like they have WON and well good luck

Whisper to them..this will usually stop ppl from yelling since ppl by nature are curious and they will try to hear what you're saying so they lower their voice. This also works with children...stay calm and whisper it will calm things down and when that happends the "yeller" will have had a few seconds to come to his/her senses

Have a good night/day

bad idea, dont try to stop them that will make things worse, wait till they're done and then you can talk calmly back and you talking calmly will settle them down eventually because they start feeling stupid about why they're yelling. if they are not calming down even though they are done yelling maybe just wait to talk about it in a couple hours or even the next day. its amazing how much you can accomplish with a clear head.

I would walk away and let that person calm down by them self because maybe that person wants attention anyways and to get it they will start to yell at you.

Tell them you won't talk with them if they are going to yell. And tell them you want to have a civil conversation about it. And if they yell just sit there until they decide to calm down and talk nicely.

Talking in a low, soft voice tends to calm the other person down.

You have to expect at least a little bit of yelling in your life. Some people have a dreadful fear of confrontation. If you have a partner, make a rule that prohibits yelling in discussions. It can be managed - I haven't yelled at a partner in decades.

Depends, if its your boyfriend id say show him your boobies. Girlfriend, buy her something that shines. If its your parents, (especially daddy) give him those big baby blues or greens or whatever color they are, look him in the eyes and say I'm sorry. Sounds simple but sometimes it works if they think you mean it. Just admitting you made a mistake and taking responsibility for it can go a long way.
