Because the founders and current leaders of the organizations have distorted the Gospel of Jesus.

Salvation isn't by works or purging yourself of some ancient alien spirit, but by the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Since LDS and JWs teach salvation through works, or that everybody is God, they have been categorized as cults.

Scientology was nothing more than an attempt by a Science Fiction writer to calculate a way to keep from paying taxes and extracting money from people that are seeking god.
