My uncle is getting married in a few weeks, and I was wondering if i could wear this dress. Personally, I think it is very cute :) but maybe a little flashy? I am 13- almost 14 and I am about 5'7. If it is too low cut, maybe I could wear a pink tank top under or a cardigan? Any suggestions?

I'd ask your mother first, she will know best. I know, the horrors of asking your mom anything at age13, but she will tell you honestly how it looks on you and if its appropriate.

It's cute. Just make sure it is long enough and get a shrug or short cardigan to wear with it. Make sure it passes inspection with your parents and you are good to go. At your age I'd get it in pink - not black. On second look I think it will be too short - here are some other ideas...

This might be a better option with a shrug. It's more of a fall color anyway and it is definitely longer.

That is a very cute dress. I hope you try it on before purchase because at 5'7" it may be a tad short on you. I do not think a tank top under would look very good because of the neck line, but a cardigan over could be an option. I would suggest taking your mother or another adult along with you to decide if the cut is appropriate.

I agree with a lot of the others..it is a little too flashy and is not conservative enough for a wedding at all. It is too low cut and short in my opinion, especially since you are only 13 years old. I saw that a couple of the girls suggested the "ballerina" dress either in black or pink and I think that would look very nice. It is not low cut but still spaghetti straps and it is an acceptable length. You don't want others especially your elders to look at you and think things. Good luck.

I wouldn't worry so much about the neckline as I would the hem line. It looks a little short to me and if you're 5'7" at age 13, its going to be really short on you. The neckline really depends on how busty you are for your age. If you're a c cup, I would advise against it or get a cardigan. I agree with Kateqd, ask your mother. If she's horrified, you shouldn't wear it. I know that sounds really lame to a 13 year old, but there is such a thing as age appropriate attire. Its hard to tell from that picture what the dress would really look like on you, so like I said, ask your Mom. Good luck and have fun at the wedding

It's not appropriate at all for a family wedding. It's too small all the way around. You would be showing too much of everything. Weddings are all about class. It is a formal affair, not the junior prom. As a rule longer dresses in darker colors are more appropriate for evening and a short dress would be more appropriate for afternoon. That dress would be appropriate for neither.

Go shopping with someone older than you. Let them help you out. There's nothing worse than looking back at family albums and saying to yourself, "What in the world was I thinking?"

This is so dang cute!

Buy a Pashima wrap to wear with it though-it looks too fancy for a tank top or cardigan. They have great, inexpensive Pashimas at TJ Maxx.

Cute, but NOT appropriate for a wedding in any way, shape, or form.

I think a tank top under it would look sloppy, and a cardigan won't disguise how short it is.

Very cute, but don't you think a babydoll dress with a big bow would make you look too much like a little kid? I like this one better...and you wouldn't have to wear anything under it. The other one was too low-cut! It also comes in pink.

I think it looks like something the bride should wear on her wedding night. I would look for another dress. it looks much too short and it doesnt cover well in the chest. wearing something under it would look sloppy and wearing a sweater over it would look odd becuase of the big bow.

Sorry, no, it's just stupid. Looks like a nightie.
Choose something more modest, and pretty.
