Both claim to believe in the "One True God." They believe that their God's existence is obvious and all doubters are deceived.

Both claim possession of the sole Holy Book authored by that One True God.

They support this claim by citing vague prophecies or historical events (often inaccurate).

When flaws are found in that book, they claim that it is meant to be taken metaphorically, or a misreading, or taken out of context.

Both claim the "extremists" are not really of their faith.

Just wondering if you see the similarities?

LOL not at all.
There is one God and he existed before Muhammad.
The Bible is before Christianity and all of the words of the previous prophets of God are trusted.
God's word has never been corrupted we worship the same God that was worshiped by God's people from the beginning.
With Islam you have either a new God that did not preexist Muhammad or a God incapable of keeping his word with some serious memory lapses.

Actually, the inaccuracies in prophecy and historical events are in the quran. The bible has been found to be remarkably accurate. And, just for the record, there are not that many similarities between muslims and Christians. Let me put it to you like this: If you are not a muslim, then according to them, you are an infidel. You are a non-believer. Muslims say that non-believers should be killed. Christians say that non-believers need to be saved. See the difference? Who would you rather meet in extreme conditions?

Let me help you out a bit and clarify something for ya....
The God that Muslims worship is the same God that Moses, Jesus and prophet Mohammad worship.
Allah is the arabic term for God the very same word that christian arabs use to refer to God...
So yes we worship the one same God...Muslims dont deny the the Torah or the Bible, the original scriptures(unchanged) where sent down from the same source...God...
The Quran was a seal of those prior scriptures in which was to remain untouched and unchanged.

If you were to read the books of these two groups and especially take note of where they each progress to, you would see the difference.

yeah ive seen similarities in the two religions. but Christians believe in the holy trinity which is a huge sin in Islam. the similarities are not significant enough to stop hatred between the religions. i personally dont hate anyone based on their religion until they hate me for mine. obviously you can see all the hate from the other answers

Islam is basically a replica of Christianity, which in turn is a replica of Judaism. Just a few frilly differences, nothing major.
