The main advantage of a Mac, when you are running MacOs X as your system software, you will not get viruses, adware, malware or worms. At this time, there are no released viruses for the Mac. So instead of worrying about the 115,000 Windows viruses and running a daily virus update, and daily virus scan, and having your computer slow down beacuse of it, you get to use a computer worry free. Other advantages, top rated tech support, and 95% of the software you will need comes with it. And yes, if you really, really need to run Windows Vista, you can. Apple gives out BootCamp for free which allows you to partition your hard drive and install Vista on part of it. Tests have show Vista works extremely fast on a Mac. The problem, that part of your Mac can then get Windows viruses etc. So you'd have to install anti-virus software on the Vista part.
As a college student you can get a MacBook with a free iPod Nano at the Apple education website for $999.

Apple hardware and homestead windows-based computers are the two an analogous, actually. The are the two Intel-based CPU laptop (aside from AMD and different processors). Mac OS (Leopard & Snow Leopard) and homestead windows Vista / 7 are working structures engaged on those hardware. On an Apple laptop (iMac or Mac Mini or MacBooks & experts) you will have any or each and all of the three considerable working equipment (Mac OS, homestead windows and linux) working in it. homestead windows-based computers, without hacking and differences, can basically run 2 incredibly homestead windows and linux. in case you're a developer, a helpdesk expert, an IT expert helping the two systems, having an Apple hardware is extra least costly. If all you like is a working laptop or laptop to apply, then any platform will do. the main effective distinction is value. Apple hardware demands somewhat extra funds than any homestead windows-based laptop equipment. Apple hardware are useful investments although for it incredibly is versatility. stable success and that i'm hoping this helps.

Simple answer is Apple computers work.
Now a days however with the advent of new technology Apple will run OSX operating System and Windows
So you can have both.
Remember Apples Mac's are not suseptable to the trojans and viruses that windows operating systems .
I have both and have never had any problem at all from my straight Apple Operating Systems,
I can't say the same for Microsoft's Windows Operating Systems.

You're trying to compare a computer to an operating system. A Mac is an Apple computer that runs a Linux derived operating system on either Motorola or Intel/AMD processors.
Windows is an operating system that runs only on Intel/AMD based hardware.
Windoze does not run on Motorola based Mac hardware, whereas Linux does. Linux will run on almost ANY hardware.
Just because most stores (computer manufacturers) ship their Intel/amd based computers with Windows preinstalled, doesn't mean that you can't delete it and install a real operating system such as Linux, which is what Apples Macs come preinstalled with.

Uh! You got me!
The Pretty Apple on the Cover, must lure them in!
Seriously, Mac's a created for users who just want it to work. OS X is very nice and you can run XP on a Mac, but not sure about Vista.
If you have no sense of adventure...buy a Mac, at least it will Boot the first time!

its a matter of preference. i have a pc and my wife has a macbook (intel core2duo 2.0Ghz) and I Never have to troubleshoot her comp. it is very stable and programs never crash and drivers never conflict. My PC has XP pro and it's fairly stable, and I like it alot for everything like upgradeability, availability of software and accessories, but i am a little jealous of the mostly maintainance free Mac. I would stick with a PC unless you're getting into graphic design or something.
