Why did it take Him 6 days to create everything?

And why did he have to "rest" on the 7th day?

God's lazy. Why do you suppose Jesus has been gone for 2000 years, when he made it seem like he'd be back in his disciple's lifetimes? In all fairness, I bet the TV shows are awesome up there.

Very good question, Obviously God could create the world in less than a second and of course God would not get tired and did not need rest. There is necessarily an answer to these questions in the word of God. God chose to create the world over a period of time for our benefit not his. The Sabbath which is the seventh day which is God's rest is for our salvation and not for the benefit of God.
Study of God's word will demonstrate the seven days are not literal 24 hour days and that one day is as a thousand years to God and a thousand years are as one day, The Bible teaches the Sabbath is the day of the lord the rule of Christ on this earth for one thousand years.

The story was taken from the Sumerian tablets which pre-date any written bible. It describes 7 days of celibration for the creation of the earth. A few hundred years over the campfire and 7 days of celibration becomes 7 days of creation.

So that you could ask this question. you wouldn't be able to fathom creation in the blink of an eye. He was giving you a chance to catch on.

The bible's account is how a human would perceive creation to come about. Humans wrote the bible, not god.

Yes, but he didn't want to appear to be showing off.

And he "rested" to show us that a day of rest is not a bad thing.

You are an atheist. You will always condemn God...no matter what he does. Folks here who respond to your foolish questions are wasting their time. Bye.
