One dog year does not equate 7 human years

And if you think about it, all dogs, no matter the size, would have a similar life span, if 1 dog yr = 7 human yrs, which is incorrect, Larger breeds tend to die earlier than a smaller breed.

people commonly think that each year of a dogs life is equal to seven human years.If this were true, it would mean a 1-year old dog who is able to reproduce is a seven year old child. it would also mean a 15 year old dog which is not an unusual age for a dog. that would mean it would be a 105 year old person, which is an unusual age for a person. A more accurate comparison between human and dog years has been made. A one year old dog is a teenager of fifteen, a 2 year old is 24. after that aging slows and 4 human years are added to every dog year. a 3 year old dog is 28. at 5 he is 36, at 10 he is 56 and so on. a dog who reaches twenty is considered 91 to 96 in human years
