I would say wear it down to match the informality of a beach wedding and if you can fix your hair wavy that would be really pretty & get the "messy" look you're going for. Also, you may want to style it half up/half down to keep it from blowing in your face since beaches are so windy. You will look beautiful!

Whatever you do, it will probably end up messy anyways, beaches are usually windy places.
