I have triplets, 2 of 3 have shallow hip sockets, surgery needed someday. Seem to have more problems physically that I did as a single baby. Has this ever been researched?

Strictly speaking, shallow hip sockets are a deformation, not a malformation. The deformation in this case is caused by in utero crowding. Deformations are more common in multiple births.

The risks of prematurity increse with multible births. Below 36 weeks the risks of lung problems begin to rise. Below 30 - 32 weeks the risks of hemorrhage into the ventricles of the brain and into the brain itself become a significant problem. Cerebral palsy, vision problems, hearing problems become more prevalent.

The issue has been thoroughtly researched.

Not necessarily, if they are identical, the reason they have the same problem is because they are extremely similar (if not practically the same) genetically.

It could also be seen in genetic recombination. If there is a 50% chance that the child will have, say, shallow hip sockets, the one could have escaped that fate. But then with 3, it is still likely enough (statistics wise) that 2 could be born with the abnormality.
