Someone said catching a disease from a mosquito depends on what part of the world you live in. Can someone tell me the chances of catching a dangerous disease from a mosquito here where I live? I live in Amarillo, Texas. Here's a map of where I live, incase you don't know where Amarillo is:

I live somewhere in the area within the blue circle at the top.

Mosquitoes exist through out the world, but whether they carry infections/diseases depends on climate or pollution, most city areas and developed populated areas have lower risks of infection, but if you live in a clean warm area then dengue may exist, however their has very few cause of mosquito borne diseases in North America.

I live in the east and we are having major problems with mosquitos.I presume that Texas has them but I don't know if its a problem. Just call the Board of Health in your city and they should be able to tell you.
