This question is about looks, not safety. By far the '65-'70 Mustang is better looking than the late model Mustang.

60's if for no other reason then they were an original design at the time.
The modern Mustangs are trying to look like something else (1960's Mustangs) and as a result have the appearance of being a cartoon character more then the real thing.

I gotta go with the 65 - 70 vintage Mustangs looking better. The new ones just copy the looks of the older ones. That said I never would want to drive one of those oldies as a daily driver. I had a '65 in high school and it was the most unreliable POS I've every owned. But, it was a good looking POS, and in High School that's all that counts!

I would have to agree the early mustangs are the best looking. The new ones are simply a copy at the original design. Not that it isn't great looking, but it looses some of the appeal due to the larger painted bumpers and such that are mandated these days.

I prefer those Mustangs bulit from the late 1960's to early 1970's, although they don't have modern technology of those bulit in the 2000's.

I like the 2000's, in particular 2004, expecially the 03/04 cobras.

Laura, if we were talking about up on a lift then this quesiton would be in the chevy section, not the ford section, and we would be asking about camaro's instead.

Since it is looks we are talking about, then it has to be the original mustangs. They are the ones with the character, they are the real deal that changed the auto industry in the 60's.

Well, the old cars are built ten times better. I like my 89 mustang gt 5-speed though.

I like the new 2005 and up retro models... Ford did a great job on the new retro release..... best looking retro car on the market!!

My favorites are the 1964, 1965, and 1966. I just seem to like everything about those years!
