Hi, lately I've tried out a fish attractant, "Fin Essence", which didn't do squat. I cast it out and the oils just disipate from the lure and I'm left with nothing. I even marinated rubber worms in the stuff for atleast a week and didn't even get a single bite. I'm going to try Berkley Powerbait Bass Attractant now. Is there any specific way I'm supposed to be applying this or are these "fish attractants" just a bunch of garbage?

don't use any that worthless crap I bought plenty of them to experiment them and no luck it's all about the correct lure and the right skills.

El Chupalatte answered well.

Attractant's do not "attract" fish. They are sprayed on your lure to give you 1-3 seconds longer to "feel" the striking fish.
Good ones to try also have pheromones to stimulate "aggression". For Bass fishing I like "Dr. Juice", "Bang", "Berkley", & "YUM". If you want a cheaper anise-oil based FA try "Baitmate".

FYI: Most oil-based fish attractants disperse immed in water and need to be re-applied frequently,(every 3rd-5th cast).

Attractants are just a tool. You must still use your skill as an angler to catch fish.

Scented bait is not meant to attract fish. It just makes them hold the lure longer increasing your chances of hooking it. Scented baits are actually pretty affective in that sense.
