Engraving your wedding ring is a romantic way to add that special touch to this symbol of never-ending love, your wedding ring. What should you have engraved on your wedding ring? The following five ideas can help you decide what to engrave.

Wedding Ring Engraving Idea #1: A Simple Declaration of Love

You don't have to come up with some new and original type of idea. The simplest of phrases can have the greatest impact, often times. Less is more, in this case. A simple "I Love You" is a more than sufficient phrase to engrave on your wedding ring.

Wedding Ring Engraving Idea #2: Your Wedding Vows

If your wedding vows are short, it's possible to engrave them on your rings. If it won't fit, you can choose a quote from your wedding vows and have that phrase engraved.

Wedding Ring Engraving Idea #3: A Bible Verse

If you're religious, engraving a Bible verse on a wedding ring is another option you may want to consider.

Wedding Ring Engraving Idea #4: A Love Poem

Poetry can still be a perfect way to express your emotions. If you can't write something on your own, there's always the option of turning to a famous poet to say those perfect words.

Wedding Ring Engraving Idea #5: A Special Song

If there's a song you and your life partner have decided is "our song", or a special song that was played at your wedding, then quoting the chorus or a section of the song is another wedding ring engraving idea.

These are just a few ideas on what to engrave on your wedding ring. What's really important is that you choose a phrase that expresses your true feelings about the relationship.

When I would deliver wedding bands to my clients I would always tease them that the bands were "guaranteed to cut their circulation! "

Seriously, unless a wedding band is 6 mm wide or more, there isn't a lot of room to engrave much inside. A tasteful engraving would be "From CGS to ADB with love 11-15-06" Because there is a gold mark and a manufacturer's mark inside a lot of bands, that is a factor as well--no matter what some of the advertisements say--if there isn't enough room, it can't be done.

As for another language, if it isn't yours or your groom's language, then it doesn't really have much significance.

Ours says "Until the 12th of Never 10-12-68"

We're getting married at the end of October and our rings will be engraved with:

his: Till the End 10/27/07
mine: My Heart 10/27/07

Till the end my heart is actually part of a song that we both like and it's a beautiful saying as well.

I would only suggest getting an engraving in another language if your family speaks it or it is part of your heritage. Getting some random language engraved is really not personal, it should be a short phrase that has meaning for both of you.

Some suggestions:

Forever
Forever Hers/His
Always
Meant To Be
Hearts Entwined

I would just engrave the wedding date. It's simple and touching. You could add something like "Love Always, 8/25/08"

He calls me Bugling and I call him Duckling, and we talk about the time we spend together we call it Dug-n-bug time (too long of a story to explain). Anyways, he is going to get Dug-n-bug engraved on the ring. Try to find something very personal!

Just got back from the jeweler myself for our rings. Here's some things we're batting around (that may or may not apply for others but they work for us):

Once in a lifetime
one life - one love

Good luck!
