I've heard that the games aren't region-locked when played through an HDTV. Anyone tested this theory? What games did you try? Please enlighten me. If true, it is interesting given Sony's anti-import stance.

I know Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is region free, Bethesda have said as much on their site, and also mentioned the console being region free when viewed on an HD screen (because it negates the PAL/NTSC incompatibility issue).
If you don't actually know and just THINK you know, don't bother answering. That's wasting my time and yours.

No, PS3s are not region unfastened. they have areas yet PS3 video games are not region locked. Blu-rays and DVDs nevertheless are however so which you would be able to not play region B/C BDs on a region A PS3.

So far, i haven't heard of any games that are region-locked.
Though, i hear it is possible if they have some reason to do it, (possibly due to censorship.)
I don't think it has anything to do with whether the TV is HD either.
