Depends. Am I a Bronze age fisherman? If I am, I gather 11 buddies and follow him around.

I am not sure what I would think, but I know what I would do.

I would take him somewhere and buy him a good meal, trying to make sure it was nutritious. If he needed cigarettes, I would either give him the extra pack I usually have stashed somewhere in my vehicle, or buy him a pack, and make sure he had matches, etc. I would also give him some change, or a few dollars. If he needed something like a shirt or something, I would try and go get that for him, as well. We have had a couple of people attacked by street people with mental problems, so I probably wouldn't take him with me to get the stuff, but I'd go get it and bring it back to him.

Actually, I do know what I would think. If he said, "I am the son of God," I wouldn't worry overly much about it, because I believe that everyone is a child of the Creator. His actual status, meaning if he was THE Son, or just one of us regular children, wouldn't matter as much to me as whether or not he was hungry or needed something. My business, and this is something I would think whether I was a believer or not, is to make sure I do whatever small thing I can to ease his journey. The truth is I have done just that in the past, and I will continue to do it in the future. If it so happens that one of the homeless people I have bought food for in the past, or one I buy food for in the future, is Jesus, well, I figure He needs to eat, too, doesn't He? If He needs to discuss it further with me, I imagine He'll figure out some way to do it. Other than that, it's all sort of just...not tremendously important.

The Scripture says, "Try the spirits and see whether they be of God". One would only have to see how this person's life/claims stacked up against the Word of God. The Antichrist that's spoken of coming upon the scene in Revelation will be so convincing that he will be able to "....deceive the very elect", or the "best and the brightest" of those left behind. The Bible also says, "Beware, lest ye entertain angels unawares." You NEVER know how God might approach you in life when He has a specific job/message for you. I wouldn't believe the SPECIFIC claim of that homeless person, for Jesus has already come and gone! The Bible says Jesus won't come back to Earth until the end of Armageddon. In the Rapture, He only appears halfway between Heaven and Earth as the "....dead in Christ shall rise first", then "...those who are alive and remain (among the Church)" will be caught up. A homeless person who made such a claim would easily be labeled among the "....many false Christs" the Bible speaks of as walking the Earth at various times in the end times, so be careful and mindful of the signs!

anything is possible. if i remember correctly, jesus was homeless too. if one of the homeless people from my hood, and i mean hood said that i would say they just finished smoking something potent. but many homeless people are also very religious, how do we know he is not the son of god. i would tell him. i believe in you and walk away.

I would think that the person might need a little help, and ask if there was anything I can do for them. They might have fallen off their meds, or need to see a doctor or something.

I've met people like that . . . it's very sad.

Your point's a good one, though, Heathcliff.

Many homeless people think that they're Jesus.

I wouldn't EXACTly classify them as False Prophets !

I would buy him something to eat. I wouldn't, however, give him money... cause there's plenty of drunk homeless old men who claim they are GOD... but it's just the booze talking. *wink*

I'd think "This man needs immediate psychiatric help. Whether his delusions are due to some psychiatric disorder or just malnourishment, he needs to check himself into the psych ward."
