MS has a time limited version of Office 2007 that you can download for free from their site.
If you are a high school or college student (or have a child, relative, etc who is), check with your school. MS has a student edition of Office 2007 which identical to the regualr version. But it sell for about 1/3 the price. (They are required to sell it cheap to students has part of the anti-trust lawsuite they last a few years back.)
If you work for a large company that uses Office, you may want ot check with your employer. Many companies are able to get Office for a fraction of the cost for their employees home computers as part of their license for using Office in their business. (My company makes it available to all employees for $25).
