Sam Kinison was a preacher who decided to turn from religion and become a comedian. Some of his comedy was about religion. For instance, in one part he asks why none of the 5000 people so much as brought a sandwhich when they asked Jesus to divide the bread and wine. He also made comments about Jesus not being married, and he even made jokes about God saying to Sam, "Oh, you think that's funny? How do you like the sound of this?" after which, the "heartbeat" that Sam was thumping on the microphone--representing his own--stopped. He also made not so politically correct comments about drunk driving.

He was killed by a drunk driver. Some friends are telling me that this was a judgement from God. Does God really make this sort of individual judgement and pass a death sentence? How can I prove or disprove the comments of my friends, who don't bother to provide reasonable logic for their belief?

Have you ever noticed that when god "kills" someone, it looks exactly like what happens to people every single day?
Isn't that strange?
It would almost lead one to believe that god has nothing to do with it...

Judgement Day does simply not exist, it's a tool to scare people and it's doing it's job well like with the lie of God and Jesus Christ. Heaven doesn't exist either, it's another thing that goes along with the lie. When we die we go onto the astral plane, which is nothing like Heaven and there is no time alone, because we'll be meeting ancestors, our friends who have passed on and of course family, more than likely.

When Sam was killed by that drunk driver. He did not die right away. the people around him said that he was talking to someone that they could not see. He ask being if they were wanting him to go with them. Sam then said OK! I'm yours. Then he died. He was a Pentecostal Preacher before becoming a comedian.

The way that Sam Kinnison died happens every day. Is it god's judgement that the children die when they get hit by a drunk driver? If that's so, what possibly could the children have done that would warrant their death? I'm sorry, but I fail to see how anyone could have deserved that, no matter what their beliefs.

Sam Kinison was one of the most brilliant comedians of all time. His death was a tragedy. The fact that Bob Saget is still alive proves there is no god.

I'm a Christian, and I miss Sam Kinison. His death has a perfectly logical explanation. It was the result of an accident, and shouldn't be read as a judgment from God.

Why would it be judgment, God himself gave us free will, clearly he had years ahead of him ( maybe not, he was a train wreck), but had God waited till he died of natural causes, then he would have allowed for Sam to change.

God is both vengeful, and merciful. Frankly, I doubt he gave Sam a second thought, what with moron world leaders responsible for thousands of deaths, telling bad jokes doesn't seem that heinous.

I love questions and assumptions like this.

When a child dies in the midst of some natural disaster, its god's will. When a church bus topples over and all the faithful members on board are killed, it was just "their time to go". When its anyone else -- its god's punishment.

Inconsistent much?

If that's so, then god must have punished those peruvians for some slight. Wow your god is vengeful. It must be such a great thing to worship a petty deity such as that. What a joyful being. Gives us free will then slaps us down when we use it.
