You would be better off using clothing spray paint, but you could use regular spray paint.
Anything like Target or Home depot will have regular spray paint for cheap. Clothing paint maybe at a specialty store or check Michael's. If there are any LARGE art stores near you (Pearly, Utrecht, etc) they may carry it too.
When you are done, run them in the dryer ALONE for 30-40 minutes. The heat will set it. I would do a test and wash one after heat setting it. The spray paint might require a different amount of time to set than some other things I've used before.

The only thing to remove dried on spray paint is Acetone (your nail polish remover has it)...But acetone will probably take up the color in the coat too...Sorry.. :-(
