MY KITTY sucked on my ears at night TOO!!
I was so worried about my kitty when she got fixed too. I posted a question on here and I will try and find it and send it to you.
Put a little washcloth that you rub on your arms and legs so it has your scent on it. They can keep that in the cage. ALso pack one of his toys. He will be on sleepy meds so he may not even notice where he is. DON'T WORRY. I know you will, I did
I am pasting the best answer and I wil go back and try and get the other ones.....I did put spade accidently instead of spayed
WIll my kitten be lonely at the vet when she gets spade?
We are taking our cat to the vet to be spade and we have to leave her overnight for one night. I am very worried about leaving her because she sleeps with us every night. She will be locked up in a cage all by herself. Do you think she knows we will come back for her? She will wake up in her cage so confused and afraid and lonely? I know she is an animal and not a person, but I am still overly worried about her.
Additional Details
Thanks for all your help!!
I am sure that she will be fine at the vets overnight. She will probably be with other animals in the room (of course they will all have separate cages) and the vet and vet techs will check on her regularly so she should be ok. Because she will be getting over the surgery she probably won't mind a little quiet time by herself. If you are really concerned about her still you can bring it up to the vet when you drop her off.
Your Rating:
Thanks for you advice and help. I am still worried, our appointment is in Feburary.
Take a blanket or something that has your scent on it so she won't feel alone. I worked in a animal hospital before and this helps. Her surgery will probably be early and she will be all drowsy and not worried about anything that day. Don't worry she'll be fine.

Lisa, I dropped off my dog to get fixed this morning! And he's staying overnight and the thought of him waking up from surgery and me not being there is tearing me up. I have to go out of town for work tonight and won't get him until tomorrow. I'm sure your vet's office will do everything they can to make your cat feel loved and welcomed. They may be the only pet in the world to us, but the vets do this regularly. Therefore, they will show your precious pet love she deserves.
She will be just fine. She will be resting in a small confined area, as needed. You don't want her to run around and cause injury to herself. She will be processing the anesthesia nd will not be steady on her feet. This is a safe, confined area for her to sleep the meds off. the staff will give her a blanket or towel to snuggle with and offer food and water. She will be just fine - no worries.
She will be too out of it, sleeping most of the time. All the other cats around her will help...It goes by fast, been there 4 times!!
Suggestion for you, take a bath towel and rub yourself and anyone else your kitty loves. When she goes in take the towel with you and request it be placed with her in the cage. She'll do just fine, till you come get her the next day...:)
I had my kitten spayed last spring. Keep in mind that she'll only be there one night. I was more concerned with my kitten being in pain. I made sure the vet gave her pain meds and I made sure that someone is at the animal hospital all night. Normally there is vet tech there all night to check on the animals. Ask if you can bring something of hers to comfort her...like a blanket or something. She'll do just fine!

Is spaid when they get something on them "cut off" ??? well if it is the only thing she'll be lonely of is missing the thing shes getting cut off...why would a gurl cat get spaid???
ANd no she wont be lonely cats are not like us humans. They dont think. And only humans would get lonely locked up in a cage. like jail.
she will be uncomfortable, nervous and anxious. many unfamiliar animals and scents there. lonely is not a word that i would use. all animals hate staying at the vets.
she will be fine, and glad to go home when the time comes. dont worry about her, you are doing something that is necessary.

She'll be fine. She will still bea little under the weather from the anesthesia, so should sleep most of the night in her cage. And, most veterinarian offices have staff that stay overnight to watch the animals. If she gets upset, I'm sure they'll check on her and comfort her.
She probably will wake up confused and lonely. But most of the vets I've worked with are good about making sure the critters have some attention. She may not understand that you'll come back for her, but she'll recover quickly once she's in her own home.

He will be sleeping off the anesthesia most of the night anyway, I wouldn't worry about it. Just pick him as early as they'll let you. Don't be anxious. Cats can sense our feelings. If you're upset, he will think there's something to be upset about. Every cat ever adopted from the ASPCA has gone through the same thing, and I'm pretty sure they've all survived it! Just be positive. It's a very minor operation, and it's for his own good. Just tell him you love him and will be back for him first thing in the morning! He'll be fine!

He may think that but he will be so happy when you pick him up!!!! I got my cat from the pound and i was worried that just putting her in the cat carrier and in the car would make her think she was going back. But they get over it. It is like when someone gives the birthday person a suprise birthday party but everypone has to pretend they forgot that person's birthday. The person having the birthday is sad at first but then they are so happy it makes up for it!

Oh it'll be ok. He sounds so cute! Yea giving him a blanket with your smell would be a good idea (my cat looves that). Just keep in mind that he'll be extra happy to see you when you pick him up from the vet! =] Kudos for getting him fixed, that's really important.

Honestly I don't think there's really anything you can do. I did the same thing with my oldest a few years ago. I recognised his meow when I went to pick him up. He'll be cared for well. He'll be happy to see you tomorrow.
