Lexington law is pretty legitimate, but the truth is you can do everything they do yourself. The credit bureaus let you dispute things online now. That's how I fixed my credit AND saved money.

There are no good credit repair/consolidation/couseling companies. They all take your money and trash your credit.
Fix your credit yourself. Make a strict budget. Squeeze every penny you can out of that budget and put it on the highest interest rate debt, while paying minimum on the rest. When the highest rate is paid off, go to the next till they are all paid.
It will take 2 or 3 years. But your debt will be gone and you'll have a good payment history.

I've never dealt with a credit repair company but I did go from a 540 to a 690 in 9 months.
Here's a couple of tips:
-pay all your bills on time every time. even if you have to eat ramen noodles
-consolidate your debt if you have multiple credit cards, that way you have more available cash to pay those bills on time and your credit report shows you paid those cards off
-keep one credit card and only use it for buying tickets, renting a car, etc. not to just buy something and pay for it later.
One thing to note, consider the cost of money (interest rate) just like a rate of return on an investment, only its money you're keeping, not making. (Somebody else is making 19.99% on your recent mall shopping spree and you made 9% last year in your 401k)
