i used henna on my hair about half a year ago. now i want to color my hair a different color. i recently bought garnier 100% color and am not sure what to do because it says not to use if i have henna in my hair. does this apply even if i used henna 6 months ago? what should i do? has anyone used this product over henna? do i have to wait longer for the henna to go away(i really dnt want to)? should i use the product anyway?

p.s. i really cant afford to go to a hairdresser ( i know they could decolor my hair and then recolor the color i wanted it)

I would definitely wait-would you rather want a look that is messed up and you would have to wait for not just the henna to grow out, but also the new color, or have very nice hair in a few months? Wait until the henna grows out and then try the new color. trust me, you wont regret it!

You can use a colorant after henna if it has been at least 1 year, that is what they will usually recommended. Of you had used body art quality henna powder you could have used any chemicals or dyes anytime you wanted to. Next time consider getting that pure henna powder called body art quality as it makes a big difference too!

Hope this helps

i'm not sure how long henna lasts in your hair. i would call the 800 customer service # on the box of garnier and ask them. they are really good with the do's and don'ts of using their products.
