i have seen it in the stores but never really thought to try it. i sounds kind of good. how do you prepare it?

I did, the one that you eat raw. It is very juicy and have slight sweetish taste.

I had some when I was in Mexico once. To me, it is pretty nasty. It reminded me of okra because it is real slimy. It could have been the way that it was prepared Which I think it was just boiled, but not for sure), but that is my opinion of the stuff. All you can do is try it for yourself. Everyone has their own opinion of food.

I've had jelly made from the tops of prickly-pear cactus flowers. It's sweet and sort of flowery tasting, nothing special really.

It tastes like string beans to me, I like to scramble them with eggs or make a cold salad with tomatoes garlic cilantro and jalepenos. mmmm

to prepare them you first wash then cut off all the stickers, dice them and boil them drain off the slimy stuff rinse and cook.
