My friend organizes and escorts bus tours to the US. All of this should be handled by your host or hostess who is traveling with you. This person should collect all the entry paperwork from the passengers, go into the border security office and present it to them.

I am very surprised you have not been informed about what you will need etc I dont know of a reputable tour company that DOESNT do all of this in advance. They should have given you ALL this information when you signed on with them.

most likely, you need to ask the company of the bus line you are taking. I am a canadian now living in the US and have lots of problems now with all the new rules. I would get your canadian passport just to be safe. Better to have it then be stuck on the bus. I know this much for sure, you can still get into canada with only your birth certificate and id at the border but, to get back you have to have a passport

If you need a passport, it will be when you leave Canada, not between the states in the US. Asking the tour company is a good place to start.

You don't need a passport when crossing by land or sea this year. Only if flying. Sometime next year you will need one (the actual dates change a lot) you will get by with a birth certificate and drivers license.
