an inch or two will keep the back glass from fogging up. it isnt gonna hurt it at speed. works like a charm.

There are window deflectors available for most makes of vehicles at your local automotive dealer or accessory store. They cover the top of the side windows so that you can open your windows a bit to allow airflow even if it is raining. If you have fogged up windows, rolling down a window or two just an inch or so will clear up the fog. It's also a way to use less fuel by avoiding the use of your air conditioner, but the windows can only be rolled down l/2 inch or so or you will use more fuel due to fuselage drag.
So, the rain won't go into the car if you have the deflectors.
And............some people just like the rain!
Laissez-faire!

WELL TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION, YES IT IS DUMB AND FOR THE PERSON THAT STATES THAT A COUPLE OF INCHES OF WATER IN THE CAR IS OKAY WELL, WHATEVER.

THE CORRECT WAY AS STATED ABOVE IS DURING A RAINING SITUATION YOU SHOULD TURN YOUR A/C ON AND TURN THE CONTROLS TO THE DEFROST MODE AND THIS WILL KEEP THE WINDOWS CLEAR.

WITHOUT A/C SAME THING, BUT WINDOWS DOWN WHILE RAINING IS DUMB.
