Don't buy that junk for your cat! Usually the Dollar Store gets 2nd quality foods that might make your kitty sick. The extra money will be compensated for by the money you save on vet bills. No, I haven't had that problem because I buy my cat's food at better quality stores.

I don't know why everybody is riding your case about getting your cat food from the dollar general store because dollar general sells Iams, Purina, etc. I buy my cat food there and get the SAME food much cheaper than at the pet store. Pet stores jack up the price considerably and it's the same food!! But anyway.. onto your question.. last week I was really short on cash but my cats needed some food so I picked up the food you are describing and my cats would NOT eat it. My cats normally eat Purina but when I have given them other foods they have eaten them. I was very shocked by this, and I took the pet food back to the store and exchanged it for the Purina bag. I was really stupid not to just get the Purina in the first place. I won't make that mistake again though. But anyway. I'm not sure if the food is poisionous or not. I'd keep a good eye on your cat and watch to see if it has any changes. I doubt it's poisonous but you can never be too careful.

The dollar general? Good lord. I would never feed my cat anything from there. He eats quality dry food, and I'm very careful about the brand of wet food I give him.

Show some love for your cat and pay a few extra dollars.

Please dont feed your cat food from dollar stores. Cat's dont generally eat a whole lot so it really doesnt cost a lot to feed them a better quality food, which consist of wet and dry. Try to avoid store brands. If you use a quality food you will also notice the litter box is staying a lot cleaner and doesnt smell as bad. If you cannot afford to feed it decent food, maybe you should consider adopting it out. Good Luck to you.

Why do you have a cat if you can't even afford to buy it decent pet food? Don't feed it that. Your cat probably feels horrible all the time. Of course there is going to be problems, its cat food for $1.

It's garbage food, I wouldn't touch it even if it was free.

There's plenty of quality cat foods out there that don't cost a bundle. Watch for $8 Chicken Soup for the Cat Lovers Soul, or Purina One, or the $8 silver colored bag of Wysong Vitality.

I don't buy from dollar general. Usually from PetSmart or the grocery store. I get name brands that I know I can trust like Meow Mix or Friskies or Purina

that is horrible food. you should buy from a pet store. never anything you can ghet at a grocery store or wal mart or dollar stores. cheap brands are mostly filler that your cat does not get nutrition from. spend the $ on feeding your cat right or find it a new home. no one should eat from the dollar store
