what groups of numbers/combos work? i've devised a new system:

0,00,1,2,3,4,7,8,9,10,11
12,13,14,15,16,23,24
25,26,27,28,29,30,31,35

This leaves open:

19,18,31,17,5,22,6,9,32

Hit = +35/1 + 1 on table. Miss = -26

the 2nd answerer may have somewhat of a winner! i swear the dam wheel will play tricks, hitting numbers with not 1 chip on it or hitting 0,00 wiping everyone out. at times, it seems that the casino has a control factor within the game. so maybe covering every number with a chip of a certain value, then as the ball spins grab a few off. hit & get the value of the chip times however many u grab off. should work for a few bets, just dont grab the wrong one off!

if u have ever sat down at a roulette table, u will discover how biased the will can be. i've seen black or red clear the board; a single number hit three times in a row; numbers next door hitting back-2-back (such as 14,35,23,4); numbers on 1 wheel hitting on 2 other wheels across the room at the same time.

my system, cautious decisions and patience, along with a bit of luck... i will win.

You've made a few mistakes up there. You have repeated some numbers that you say are open in the covered numbers section. You might want to check that.

The problem with your system is that after an hour you will be bored to tears and will simply change your system or leave and do something more interesting.

But let's look at your system. You cover:

0,00,1,2,3,4,7,8,9,10,11
12,13,14,15,16,23,24,
25,26,27,28,29,30,31,35

You don't cover:

5,6,17,18,19,20,21,22,32,33,34,36

So you are not covering 12 numbers.

So for every 38 spins (on average) you win 26 times, and lose 12 times.

So let's say you bet $1 on each number every time. So the 12 times you lose is going to cost you $26x12= $312

The 26 times you win is going to win you $36x26=$926. That's 35-1 plus your stake back. But on each of these spins you lose $25, on all the numbers that didn't come up. So that's 26x$25= $650.

So on a perfect round where each number hits once (as it should eventually in the long term on an unbiased wheel) here's what happens:

You lose a total of $650 + $312 = $962

You win a total of $926.

So every 38 spins, you will lose and average of $36. So if one spin takes three minutes from beginning to end, you are going to lose, an average of $6.32 per hour.

Of course in 38 spins, you may get lucky or unlucky since the figures I have given are long term averages. If you get lucky, you may make more, if you get unlucky and a bad number comes up, you could lose a few hundred bucks.

Whichever way you look at it, your system has a negative expected value, and is not a winning strategy. The problem with any of these strategies is that sitting there implementing something so tedious for hours on end will soon bore you so much you will want to do something else.

I guarantee if there were a simple strategy for roulette that was fool proof and gave the player an advantage over the house, they would change the rules of the game.

UPDATE: Just because you see a wheel do something weird like spin black a few times in a row, does not mean that the wheel is biased. In fact many casinos used that board you are looking at to monitor to ensure that over time the wheel is not biased. But it takes several thousand spins to truly determine what a wheel is going to do.

Whether you accept it or not your system is no better or worse than any other system out there. You are still going to lose an average of 5.26% of your money over the long term. Even if you get lucky in the short term you can never outrun the math.

The best roulette strategy is simple: Don't play.

Roulette has a 5.26% house edge for almost every bet. No matter how you group the numbers, you will still lose 5.26% to the house.

The only bet that doesn't have a 5.26% house edge is the 5-number bet (0, 00, 1, 2 3). The house edge on that bet is even higher.

Edit: I just took a closer look at your "strategy".

Your plan will work if you can find a wheel that doesn't have the numbers 20, 21, 33, 34 and 36.

bet the black numbers in the middle column.. The majority of black numbers .. 8 of the 18 are found there.. SO if the number is black which is a 50 % chance approximately just under 50%. And almost 50% (=) 47.9% of black numbers (=) 8 of 18 are in middle column then you cover all black numbers in middle column with lets say one dollar per number. This will be an 8 dollar bet. If you hit it one time you will get 36 to 8. Which is 4.4 to one. Meaning you can be wrong 4 times and right just once and still make money. You have a 23 % chance of making 4.4 to one on your money.. If you like red play the far left column. The odds are the same as just explained. Other players i know like to cover 2 of the 3 columns that pay 2 to one odds. You will win 65% of the time but only half of what you wagered. Find a wheel and observe for biases.. Find a wheel with only one zero.. these are the ways i have won money.. Or find a loser and bet the opposite of him.!! good luck.

The best strategy for Roulette begins with finding a "Single Zero" wheel. They are found in just a few U.S. casinos that I know of (mostly overseas), but this cuts the house advantage from 5.5% down to 2.5%.
Tip#2-Just play the zeros. Roulette dealers are trained to aim for the "0" and "00" on the wheel. And yes, experienced roulette dealers can hit within a 7 numbers stretch on the roulette wheel. I have 2 friends who used to be roulette dealers and they were fairly accurate with their spins. The house wins ALL outside bets when the zeros hit so they train their people to aim for them.
