You've gotten some really great answers. I hope that you take them up on their offer to help you find help if your insurance gives your mom a hard time with it.
The insurance should cover at least a 30 day inpatient program, and ongoing counseling how ever many times a week the therapist sees is needed.
Believe it or not, fifteen is about the normal age for this disease to grab hold. The pressures of the press and movies to be so very skinny, which is shown in the latest fashions all the girls want to wear, add high school to that and the pressure to fit in and the list goes on and on. I would say that you aren't the only one in your group of friends like this. There is atleast one other girl, if not a few that are doing the same thing.
I was so tiny in high school but I was just like you. It was never enough. I've fought it all my life, even today. I have certain things that I do to stop myself. There isn't a scale in my home. Because I would/will become obsessive about it. My husband, friends, and family will still call and ask, "Did you eat today? What did you eat? When was the last time you ate?" If you can get help today to stop this it will make your life so much easier and better in the long run.
Please tell your mom, take the help offered here, and if you go to treatment or counseling really dedicate yourself to it, to fighting it and getting better.
There isn't anything perfect or pretty about dying, or being a grown adult and having your spouse call you from the office to ask if you've eaten. It's humiliating.
Good Luck to you, I wish you all the best on getting the help you need.

It depends on your insurance company. If you look around you might be able to find a free clinic though too, or at least one with a sliding fee scale which means they charge what you're comfortable paying. Do consider telling you mom though. I mean... I don't know your family, but she could be a huge support for you, and she's more likely to know if your insurance will cover treatment.
And yeah, I realize you can't just eat. I've got weight issues too and people are just like "just... EAT EVERYTHING!!!" but because you haven't been eating a lot, even if you want to your body won't necessarily let you. I'm drinking energy drinks right now (Boost Plus, specifically) because that has a lot of calories in a very small portion. Thats also what they sometimes reccomend as treatment for people with eating disorders.

Well, it can depend on the health insurance plan. Many insurance plans will cover Detox or Rehab for Alcoholics, Drug abuse, even mental health problems that send people to seek rehabilitation. The best way to find out,is to call the insurance company. However, you need to tell your Mom. She, probably, suspects something anyway. Just find an appropriate time to, " Mom, I need to talk to you". Choose a time that will allow for a private talk with her. For example, you don't want to upset things if she is stressed or busy with other " stressful" situations. But, you can find an opportunity to whisper in her ear, " Mom can we talk later" ?? You really do need to tell her. She your Mom and she loves you.Or, you could write her a letter. Practice first, as to be sure that the letter is open and honest. You know your Mom better than anyone here. Being anorexic, is a serious, even life-threatening disorder. Is there anyone that you can confide in so that you be advised as to how to tell your Mom?? School will be starting soon, do you have a favorite teacher or guidance counselor that can help you ?? I hope that this helps and Good Luck.

My parents had the same trouble with me. Tons of girls with eating disorders do. Insurance lasts for a little while but then the companies get impatient and it runs out. Treatment can be VERY expensive and lots of people are working on making sure it's covered more in the future. Good luck. I really think you should talk to your mom whether or not your insurance covers it.

It all depends on your insurance. Some companies don't provide much benifit. My suggestions would be to call your insurance company and ask. Unfortunately the insurance my family had (even though it was /very/ expencive) would pay for less than a month worth of treatment, so I had to just get better on my own, which was a lot harder. Hope this helps and good luck recovering. If I can do it so can you. :) -hugs-

It depends on your benefits with your insurance. Call your insurance company and ask them. Also, there is an inpatient clinic in Arizona that accepts insurance, but they also have scholarships for women who cannot afford to pay. You might want to call them and see. It is a Christian-based program with an emphasis on Christianity, so that would have to be part of your treatment if you went there.

You need to call the treatment center with your insurance information and they will find out if it is covered. Most insurance companies will pay for this treatment. You can also get evaluated by the center and they do have a government free spot that you can ask about and apply for. You need to fight for yourself girl because you can die of this disease. If you need help figuring this out I am more than happy to help you with the process.

Go tell your Mom and she will check with her insurance. Most insurance do cover because it is not a willful illness. Please go talk to your mom, I think she would rather have her little girl around for alot more years than just 15.

Talk to your mother about it so she can call the insurance. Wanting help is great and your mother should commend you on taking the first step.
Most insurance should cover some type of treatment, inpatient or outpatient.

Well, she probably already knows. If you were losing weight rapidly, she probably noticed. For me, I did not need a clinic, just my doctor and their advice. Group therapy helps to. There alternative ways to getting help with anorexia, just tell your mom and go to your doctor.
