Okay. So I'm hosting my niece's birthday party in two weeks, and my sister says that she wants them to do some arts and crafts. I don't know what type, but all I know is that she is turning four, and has many many friends. Could anyone reccomend some places for me to go to get the items, what to do, what they should make, etc etc?

If you have a Dollar Tree in your area go there. They have those little foam visors a 3 pack for $1, and they have the little shapes that can be glued on. I just got them for the goody bags and let the kids take them home, but they can also be done at the party too.

Paints are also inexpensive if you buy them in large quantities. I always use poster paints - they're cheap and wash off easily. You can make picture frames with paint and mattes for pictures. I don't think the mattes are very expensive and then tape the picture on the back so you can see it through the hole. Easy and doubles as a party goodie!! Girls love seguins and beads. Get some of that to decorate the frames. Good luck, sounds like fun!!

My mom always did either cookie or cupcake decorations for our parties. Instead of a cake, of course. IT is messy but fun. Let the kids add their favorite candies and decorations to the frosted cupcakes or cookies.

Also the foam activities are really fun. They have visors, picture frames, ornaments, halloween/fall sculptures etc.

I know it is not a craft, but don't forget the Pinata!! Kids LOVE those

my kids love to color, and would do it 24/7 if i would allow, just the simplest things make good projects for kids, finger painting, and another thing if you dont want parents to throw them away when they get home or shortly after, do soemthing with the childrens pictures have them make a photo frame with foam fall leaves, or make a self protrait with finger paint, and if you are able to take pictures and immediatly print take a real picture of the kids, and then have them make a self protrait by looking at them. but there are so many simple projects that will keep kids amused, ahve them all decorate their own cupcake or make a halloween type project since you can go with that theme or fall, or you might even be able to get summer items on clearance right now deocrating t-shirts is fun too good luck with it and i hope she has a happy birthday

i get a catalog from oriental trading and they ahve lots of great kids projects, here is the web site they have more on the site then in the catalog and they area fairly cheaply priced

wal-mart has good craft department or Michael's is a great craft store if you have them where you live!!! since its girls try a jewelry making craft set (designed towards younger girls) or making dolls clothes, something fun like that, or do personalized picture frames or decorate purses. any kind of girlie stuff they will love!
