trichomania is not a disease, it is a mental health issue. IF she is still scratching and causing these scabs, she still has the trichomania and she does indeed need the help of a psychiatrist as well as a dermatologist to help her get past her issue.

Eww, well she could have a ringworm. That causes head scabs and itching, and I am certain it is accompanied by a feeling of something (the ringworm) moving around. She needs to get to a dermatologist for some cream or antibiotics.

I think she needs to see her doctor as soon as she can and start taking a multivitamin. Sometimes scalp problems can come from a vitamin deficiency. The doctor should be able to tell her if she has lice or not.

Go see the doctor and find out if it it Trichanomas or a fungus. My son (10yrs) was told by several doctors his whole life that he has ecsema(spelling?) on his scalp and we saw someone else who said it was a fungus and after two treatments of a cream it was gone. He lived with this scaley, scabby stuff his whole life and now it is gone.

I saw something like that on a medical show. The poor patient actually had worms living in her scalp, and no doctors had been able to help her. They told her she was nuts and to see a shrink. But she'd been traveling in Costa Rica and some nasty fly had laid eggs in her scalp. They had to pull the worms out, one by one.....(gag).

She needs to rule out insects or worms before she decides she's crazy.
