There would be no point in following a religion if it weren't the right one, would there?

I think all beliefs have truths and misunderstandings, and areas where things may have gotten foiled up, simply because I believe in one God, and there are hundreds of beliefs.

It could be argued that Buddhists don't feel this way. They feel that Buddhism is a known path that will lead one to enlightenment. If someone became enlightened by another path, they would probably still feel that they were enlightened. But, I'm not a Buddhist, so I'm interpreting. I don't think I'm wrong, though. This is why Buddhism is also called a philosophy.

I do know that there are places in the Qu'ran (Islam) that say that a Christian can truly be saved by following the true teachings of Jesus, and a Jew can truly be saved by following the true teachings of Moses. They feel, however, that organized religion has lost much of the original meaning and has warped the meaning that is still there, to a large extent. But, they still say officially that a Jew, Christian or Muslim can be saved by submitting to the will of God and following their specific prophet.

Because if I have chosen it has to be right, its a battle to say "I do the right things" Grandeous delution! NO one wants to be wrong. Its a state of mind to say"I am ok and you are not ok", this attitude is the beginning of all the conflicts, because each on thinks the other is inferior, now imagine people of other faith with the same mentality. Now you will know the basis of all the conflict. Man has to reach a level of cousciousness to say "I am ok, you are OK. ONly then all wars will end. Its the ego thing. If ego dies the self emerges. and the self is good, and true.

How do I know which religion is right?
This is a difficult question to answer because it involves discussing some principles that the person you are witnessing to may or may not agree with. For example, does he or she agree with you that truth is knowable, that God would attempt to communicate with His people, or that only one religion may be right? Usually, I start by acknowledging the difficulty of coming to an easy answer. However, I tell them that I do have an answer; I am sure it is the right one, because it is an answer based on evidence. What kind of evidence? Prophecy and its fulfillment Jesus and His miracles, the resurrection of Christ, etc. Then I ask that person if he or she knows of these things happening in other religions.(1) The answer is invariably, "No." Then I point out that they have only happened in Christianity. If

Because everyone has opinions and they think their opinion is right. So since their opinion is the correct one, (from their point of view), they assume God agrees with them.

Most religions don't think it....in reality there are only three that think it....and really only two. Judaism tends to see it as a one-way FOR JEWS, not for all.

Tribal religions, indigenous religions, polytheistic religions, the naturally evolved religions of Europe, North America and Asia, for example, tend to think there are MULTIPLE correct paths, even if there may be only one path per people.

Not many say, "We worship but we know we're wrong."
When you become mystic you know all religions are wrong.
Then you're stuck with no religion and you discover all these beautiful people. Some were Christians, some were Muslim, some Were Jewish etc. etc... but now they all know God. It's a better way to look at the universe. Mystics rock.

Why would anyone want to belong to a religion that is not the right one? Theist have a GOD to answer to. You atheist don't seem to understand that. A theist has only one chance to get it right or their God will condemn them to Hell.
Incidently, I am a Christian but I belong to no religion. I rely on faith. If I am wrong, oops, "Bad me!"

What's the point in following a narrow path, if there's an easier or prettier or shorter one?

There are many that don't think they're the only one. Pretty much all of the non-Abrahamic ones. Hinduism, Buddhism, Neo-paganism, etc.
