can you guys tell me why you would accept a job that does nothing to others but cause them grief, and for what forgetting to run out and fill the meter, at least the real cops catch people that can do harm. Maybe you dont get signed up for these jobs you just get relegated to do them then i guess i kind of understand but basically what im saying is everyone hates you dosent that bother you.

Folks need jobs, regardless of how "honorless" and "mean-spirited" you may find them. I for one, would love to be a process server, meter maid, or other "ball breaking" type job that entails MAKING OTHER PEOPLE'S DAYS CRAPPIER THAN MINE.

If I could have a job where I get yo ruin your day, then I would be in heaven. I would rig a camera so I could take a picture at the instant you realize you've been ticketed (or served with papers, in case of process server). That shocked and awed look on one's face has to be the funniest thing to see.

Get over yourself. There are thousands of thankless, crappy YET IMPORTANT jobs that people fill, and have to deal with idiots who whine cuz they parked illegally.

If you think you're so goddamned smart, then fight the ticket, it's that simple. I'm 12 out of 17 against the NYC Dept. of Finance ticket agents. (That means I've beaten 12 of 17 parking tickets.) I'm 4 for 4 in Nassau Country New York.

I'd love to know what you do for a living.

Places I have lived, the "metermaids" were full police officers assigned to traffic. Also, where I have lived, you must move your vehicle after the alloted maximum time on the meter runs out. In Toledo Ohio, the officers mark the tires on vehicles and note the time. One hour parking means just that, one hour. If people doing their jobs correctly bothers others, OH WELL, get over it.

If no one enforced parking rules then there would never be a space available. Also, the fees go toward services you would surely miss if they were not performed.
