I have a 17 year old daughter who has a learners permit. If she drives without adult supervision and gets pulled over, can anything happen to me? For some reason she only thinks she will get a ticket and not be penalized. If she gets into an accident will my insurance cover her even though she isn't on the policy or live in the same house?

Amazing amount of wrong info. on this.

One - call your insurance company. Geico for example covers permit drivers and only requires you to insure her after she gets liscensed. But, call you insurance company to make sure this is accurate for your policy and in your state.

Two - you can not be given a driving ticket for her actions. However, if she is driving your car and has a wreck it will effect your rates. Also, if an accident goes to court and the other party proves damages in excess of your coverage your could be subject to a judgement for the amount over and above your insurance coverage. So, talk with your insurance company and make sure your coverage limits are correct for your personal situation to avoid this. Personally - been through this three times, with three different kids and no accidents of any siuze thanks to God.

I suggest one to try this site where you can get rates from different companies: http://insurancetocompare.info/index.html?src=2YAoytad81uE

Each state is different, but we had an incident with my nephew a few weeks ago, where he was driving without an adult and he only had a learners permit. He ended up having a fine, and has to do community service through Juvenile court. But since your allowing your daughter to drive, you may possibly be ticketed as well. And as far as your insurance goes, again since your allowing her to drive, knowing that she doesn't have license, I doubt your insurance would pay for any accident she was in.
So honestly she shouldn't be driving. Is there a reason why she doesn't have license?? What ever the reason, I'd keep her off the road until shes legal!

If she is driving your car, you are responsible. Doubtful your insurance will cover since she doesn't live with you. In this case, you could also be charged with allowing an uninsured person to drive your vehicle. She can lose her driving rights until she is 18 or 21 depending on the judge if she is in an accident. This is all based on her driving your vehicle. Is she living with someone who has custody of her? That could make a difference.

If she gets into an accident, your insurance will not cover you.
If she gets caught, her permit will be revoked, and she will not be able to get another for one year, or until she turns 21.
