Shes my best friend, i love her more then anything but, my mom is having a baby soon. One, my cat hates babies and attacks them. Two, she is REALLY furry and i would have to keep her in my room all the time so she doesnt get fur all over the house and the baby chokes on it. So should i keep her in my room all the time, or should i give her away? How would I find a place to give her where i know she would be taken care of? I have no friends to give her too, i just moved across the country.

Okay, first of all, the fur wouldn't be a problem. I grew up with 3 cats and when I was a baby, they'd sleep in my crib. I think if she attacks babies, that's the problem. I wouldn't keep her in your room, she will probably end up being depressed and pee. I would find a local animal shelter. I work at one and if its an emergency, we will usually take the cat in. And as sad as it can be, in the long run the cat might even be HAPPIER. Whatever you do, please don't just leave it somewhere. You can look online for your local shelters on yahoo. Just type "animal shelters near ____". Hope this helps.

Just keep her in your room all the time. She won't be too happy about it, but at least she won't feel abandoned and thrown away. Soon the baby will grow up and they will be able to become pals too, and then she will geto out of the room. Plus you could take her out under supervision after you have brushed her really well from time to time and get her used to the baby!

You should give your cat away, if in your house there is an extra room, you can use that for her playplace or something. So it won't bother the baby and it won't get fur everywhere. Plus, you can play with her anytime, unless she escapes.

If it were me in this situation (and yes I've been in this situation many times before!) I would keep the cat in your room and take extra good care of it's needs. ie: litter box, food, water, fresh air aka = window to sit in. And lots of kitty toys! If you love your cat that much and she's your best friend, keep her close to you! She wouldn't do that to you if the situation were turned around! And whatever you do, KEEP HER AWAY FROM THE POUND! :-(

I would keep the cat. I would get her declawed and have her fixed if you haven't done that yet. I think you will be fine does your cat attack just all babies or kids that try to pull her tail. I have never heard of a cat that just attacks people. I would have her checked at the vet as well if there is something hurting her and she's showing in aggression. Good luck and I would keep her.
