train her in your backyard first
if she naturally comes to you, put her in her litter box
there are some training pebbles that they sell at petsmart that help train animals to go in their litterbox
just keep showing her the litterbox, putting her in it
and when she's mastered it outside, bring it into your house

I would put her in the bathroom with a clean litterbox and not let her out till she proves she's only going to use the box, or put her outside if she's also an outdoor cat. Let her know your not happy. There's this good stuff you can get at the pet store called natures miracle. It washes and gets the odor out from where she's peed. Sometimes they'll keep peeing in the same spot like it's a designated pee area. Had a cat use the corner of the living room like that. She might be unhappy about something, but she needs to get over it. If she's not spayed it might help, and if her litterbox stinks she's telling you to fix it. Good luck!

The most common reason a cat will not use its litter box...
Because the litter box is dirty - from the cat's viewpoint, not yours. Cats often react to any type of stress by suddenly urinating or defecating outside the litter box. The stress may be caused by a new cat in the neighborhood; children home on vacation; too many cats in the house; your going away on vacation or a new piece of furniture. Urinary tract problems also cause cats to urinate in places other than the litter box. Any sudden change in elimination habits should be discussed with your veterinarian.
Prevent House Soiling
Until your cat is reliably house trained, she should not have free run of your home. If your cat continually makes mistakes, the behavior can simply become a habit. Punishing a cat after the fact teaches her to be afraid of you. Scolding and then taking the cat to her litter box after she has already eliminated teaches her to associate the litter box with punishment. Basically, punishment doesn't work with cats: prevention and praise for getting it right are the keys to training. When you leave the house for any length of time, your cat should be confined to a single room, preferably one with non-porous floors, such as a kitchen, bathroom, utility room, basement or garage. Provide your cat with a bowl of water and a warm place to sleep at one end of the room and a freshly cleaned litter box at the other end. Until the house soiling has been cured, your cat should have a regular feeding schedule so she will develop a corresponding elimination schedule.
The Litter Box
Your cat does not simply need a litter box - she needs a clean litter box with fresh litter. Your cat will be inhibited from using her litter box if it smells of urine. Think about it from the cat's viewpoint. When she soils your dining room carpet, the area is immediately and thoroughly cleaned. Given the choice between a regularly cleaned place and a litter box that gets changed only once or twice a week, your cat will naturally prefer the carpet.

1) Fix her
2)Get another litter box... some cats don't like just having one and they are picky
3) make sure her litter box is always clean... clean it DAILY.
4) get a larger litter box... this goes a long with the picky thing
5) Make sure her litter box is in a private place... cats like their privacy
All of the above reasons may be why she is going around peeing places... cats are smart and they know what can annoy us lol!

Is she spayed? Also, do you clean the litterbox often? If the litterbox is dirty, cats often will not use it until it is cleaned. If you have to, lock her in the room where the litterbox is until she learns.

Make sure her food is not near her litter box. The old saying holds true in the animal kingdom, "Don't s*** where you eat."

Did she just start doing that? Could mean she has a bladder infection.

the best advice i can give you is to remove her old litter box and replace it with a new one and if possible try putting it in a new place.

Is She fixed?? The only reason I ask is because female cats will mark their terrotory by spraying just like male cats will do. If they are fixed this will sometimes stop it form happening

Take a urine sample to the vet, sounds like she has a urinary tract infection.
