I think I would probably fit your definition of an atheist, since I do not believe in or accept any Man-created God.
At the same time, I DO recognize the abundance of evidence that points to a SOURCE, and I refer to that Source as "God" sometimes; other times I refer to It as the Field of Potential.
I question your judgment of my "Faith", or lack of it. I agree that my Faith in myself is greater than yours is in yourself; my Faith is in my ability to seek, recognize and accept Truth and Knowledge, while your Faith is merely in your ability to accept Belief as a substitute for Truth and Knowledge, while remaining Ignorant of the actual truthfulness of those Beliefs.
I am still an Atheist because of my inability to substitute "Faith" for "Fact", and my inability to accept "Belief" as "Knowledge"

Pfft. That's idiotic, and you know it.
There's no evidence whatsoever that God is real - if there was, the believers would be all over this forum with it, and you'd have posted some yourself.
Doesn't the fact that you have to lie so much to defend your beliefs tell you something about the quality of those beliefs? It should.
====================
Atheists aren't particularly stubborn. No more so than anyone else. I assume you don't believe that there are polka-dotted chimpanzees dancing on your head, right? Does that make you stubborn? Or narrow-minded?
Or perhaps you do believe that...a person who falls for that "pieces of Noah's ark" hoax might believe anything.

You obviously don't understand the concept.
EVERYONE is born an atheist. At some point, most people are indoctrinated into a religion enough that they believe. If you weren't, then you are still an atheist. Others are mentally strong enough that the indoctrination never succeeds, or succeeds only temporarily.
Atheism is a lack of faith. We recognize that believers convince themselves that there is evidence for their god, but see that such convincing is done without logic or science and is for those without knowledge of such things. I have been examining the so-called evidence for your deity for over 40 years and find it not at all convincing. Maybe when you grow up you'll do the same.

Show me one shred of evidence that doesn't involve one of the following phrases:
"Because The bible says so"
"just look around, there is your evidence"
or the ever popular
"If you see a watch laying in the forest you know there is a watchmaker somewhere"
Lack of evidence does not prove existance, nor does blind faith and a large number of cult followers. It does NOT take faith NOT to believe in something. Do you have faith that leprechauns do not exist? or do you simply "know" that they do not?
Give me a break, buddy. Get off your pedestal, and stop trying to justify your fairy tale beliefs. Get some help... seriously.
Edit: They've never found ANYTHING of noah's ark. Anyone who claims to have found it would be a liar.

Yes, I'm an atheist and I would very much enjoy to hear you explain all that evidence you speak of for the existence of God. Which God would that be by the way?

Evidence of god's existence? I didn't know anyone had come up with that. Enlighten me...
Oh yeah, it says it in that book.
They found pieces of Noah's ark? And they now the ancient sticks of wood at that site were Noah's ark? How?
I followed that story, and it fell apart because no one could answer that simple question.

Went to Methodist church till I was 13 in the NW corner of Iowa.
Why?
B/c I didn't really care much about church and the only reasson I had to go was just to sing and see my grandparents who live in town. At 13 I had comfermation which isn't a big deal like in a catholic church it was just a little ceremoney thing.
Then I just stopped going. My parents stopped going before me but they still aren't athiests they just like sleeping in or doing something else sunday mornings.
I'm a athiest but have never told them b/c Mom would freak about it.
I have nothing agaisn't Christains or other religous folks. Some of my friends are religous.

No I am not an atheist.
"If you are an atheist do you realize that you have more faith than someone believes in God because their is more evidence that God is real and less that he is not real?"...so what!
The common definition AMONGST atheists is not believing in any gods. Athiest are not theists, therefore, they are athiests. :-)
Your have a moot point.

the so called evidence of God are purely assumptions. you assume things you feel and object you see to be the evidence. it isnt a strong or could be considered as more evidence.
if you do meant biblical god , then i would say why would i want to have immense faith in a biblical god? i have yet to see a decent and satifisfactory answer .
why create hell to burn billions of soul ? one finite sins doesnt deserve infinite punishment.
secondly , why not make hell the 2nd heaven but of lower rewards such as lesser enjoyment ? if you do get what i mean.
why does he imprison and punish the satan eternally to show of his power , and instead he could even better show off his power and even gain greater respect by guiding satan to the right path through love ? i mean seriously , he's suppose to be omnipotent in the bible , there's nothing he can't do right ? and it isnt ridiculous like creating a stone he cant lift up .
christians tell me that i could get my family to convert by showing them the love i show for jesus , does it really work ? no it doesnt.
assuming it could be done this way , then if a human could , why cant god do this too ?
and lastly , why still create human just to burn a majority of mankind in hell eternally ? is it worth it to do so , just so that the minority could enjoy their eternal life in heaven ? is it really LOVE to build happiness on top of sufferings ?
explain to me ? and show me one concrete evidence that god exist , CONCRETE . and i may just convert .
and oh sorry to break your heart , the pieces of noah ark is fake , not proven to be true. the lastest ' findings ' are fake too , not prove either . they claim to be real and they send it to lab testing , but when probe to release the lab name , they cant . they claim fossils found in the ark too , but hey , didnt noah release all the animals ?
see they cant even lie well . christians website are design to create certain illusions to reinforce faith , surely you wouldnt find one that says the bible is fake.you wanna get real evidence ? search through an atheist webpage. why would it be accurate ? because if we found 1 evidence that clearly show its god acts , we WOULD have convert. =)
