Day 9 with my 2mm stone, which is apparently now hiding behind my pelvic bone(s).

I'm wondering if the intermittent pain I'm having indicates that it's moving? Or does it just hurt now and then because it's a painful thing?

I really want to believe that the pain is caused by its movement......

Also, has anyone tried the "jump and bump" method to get it to pass? Did it work?

And last but not least, does the location of the pain change as it moves? I'm still having pain in the same area of my back, but yesterday my butt started hurting a little too. I'm hoping that's a sign that it's on the move.

I do plan to ask my doctor these questions as well - I just didn't think of them the last time I saw him and my appt. isn't until Thursday.

yes, the pain travels with the stone, the original location continues to be somewhat painful as well because of tearing and inflammation caused by the stone. Jump and bump is not a good idea as you can create excessive damage and inflammation in the uretur if you do that, just every day walking and normal activities will help to keep it moving along, as well as lots and lots of water.

The pain could indicate the stone is move or that it is logded in your tube. Pain could come when it is blocking the passage way. If you are sure it is a stone, you could take a lemon, squeeze it in a cup of warm water and drink it 2xs a day till the stone comes out. The lemon water will help to break down the stone.

I did this and it ended up coming out with no pain. If you have kidney stones, there is a good chance your body is over acidic and this is a bad thing.

My husband suffers from kidney stones and he said that if your feeling pain, then the stone is on the move. You should be drinking lots of water and cranberry juice. Depending on your age beer also, it not only makes you pee a lot it takes the edge off the pain. If you have any pain pills that the doctor prescribed take those, if not maybe take a couple of Tylenol to help with the pain.

I have been told by my step mother in-law, that passing a stone is worse then giving birth so I wish the best for you and hope this resolves it self soon.

It is moving which is good. Your pain will usually stay in the same area. I haven't heard of the jump and bump method, but my doctor told me when I had multiple kidney stones to drink beer. First it makes you urinate, and if you drink enough you won't feel the pain. If your on pain medication already then don't try that. Just drink alot of water.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
