People tend to forget the 3 second rule and follow too close. That leads to chain reactions if someone has to slow down quickly.
You do know the 3 second rule, don't you? Pick a spot, when the car in front of you passes it, start counting. If you get to 3 or more before you get to the same spot, you're okay. If not, you're too close and wouldn't have time or room to stop.

Because people don't take driving seriously and think they can multitask. In other words, they're too busy on their stupid cellphones to actually pay attention to what's going on around them.
