What you are probably referring to is metastatic cancer. The tumors do not 'burst' . . but they can 'shed' microscopic cells that can enter the blood stream or lymphatic system. The metastatic cells can travel throughout the body and lodge in a distant place from the original tumor. There the cells will grow a new tumor and can also come to a point where it will shed or 'seed' tiny microscopic cells. One of the reasons chemotherapy is used is to try and kill off these tiny cells that are growing in other locations in the body. Chemotherapy is systemic and follows the same paths that the microscopic cells follow in the blood stream.

I have never heard of "bursting" tumors with stomach cancer.
Stomach cancer is just like any cancer and staged based on metastatic disease such is if its contained to the inner lining of the stomach vs the nodes surrounding the stomach or in the liver.
I have been a cancer RN for a long time and suggest you speak with the Oncologist or even your family physicians about the diagnosis so you better understand what is going on and can calm yourself. It they do not answer your questions satisfactorily, get another opinoin.
