It depends on the woman. Normally we think of a woman as favoring 'family values', the needs of families, children, etc. Not to mention women's rights, an area where I think we still need to make some progress.
But a woman we elect as president could just as well be a 'figurehead' like the president we have now, just a front for a shadowy unelected cabal who make her policy and write her speeches. You can't even be considered a serious candidate today unless you have already sold out, and a woman can sell out just as easily as a man.
Hillary is the first woman to really have a shot at the White House. She's not exactly my idea of the idea candidate for president. Though, all things considered, she might be the best of the lot currently running. Certainly an improvement over what we have now!

Things will change, but it won't be because the next president will be a woman. Each new administration brings with it some change.

To Tj N...........behind every great man is a woman and behind her is his wife!
Edit: Why should a woman be any different to a man. In the UK they said the same thing before Mrs Thatcher, but now she's gone they'd have her back anytime.

Good old marxist race and gender identity politics! Things would get much worse much faster if this particular 'woman' were elected.

It may be a first for the USA but not for the world. There have been many women leaders before.

by the time a person reaches that point in politics they are, pretty much, gender neutral. they are either conservative or liberal, not male or female. to a big extent this even applies to race.

I guess that would depend on the woman and her character and abilities...not her gender.
