Some people enter the U.S. illegally because they want a better life for themselves and for their families. Many Americans find this crime to be excusable because of the intentions involved.

Many Americans also want better lives for themselves and for their families. Would it also be okay for them to trespass on private property in order to meet this goal?

It's okay for everyone to want a better life. It's not okay to break the laws to get that. If it were, I'd be robbing my local bank tonight. It's NOT okay to take from your neighbors or steal from those who have more. You can't just take what you want. We aren't animals.

It is OK for US Citizens to want a better life. That is the American way. It is also OK for illegals to want a better life but as responsible people they should not try to acheive that better life illegally and at the expense of those who are here legally. Breaking the law is breaking the law.

There is no sane human being alive anywhere in the world who doesn't want a better life. But committing a crime is NOT the way most ppl attempt it. Furthermore it is not now, nor has it EVER been, the sole responsibility of the U.S. to offer every1 a better life.

I think it is ok for ALL HUMANS regardless of their country status to want a better life. Unfortunately it's been coded into us to strive and do what we can to survive and make a better life for ourselves and families.

Doesn't help by the way that we live in a country that taunts and teases other poverty stricken countries bragging about how much we have??!!!
Let's twist this a bit, if you lived in one of the poorest countries such as Mexico, Nigeria, Liberia, (just to name a few) would you not want a taste of what America is bragging about?

So to answer your question again, if I had a family to feed and a life to live yes I would trespass on private property to survive.....

It's legal for anyone to want a better life. However, it's not legal to break the law and hurt others and steal from others to get it. The pro-illegal immigrant support groups and Catholic Charities and these churches that are providing "Sanctuary" should send their missionaries along with Christian mercenaries to these countries and organize the people there to change their own government. They should storm the Mexican Capital and demonstrate in the streets of Mexico. We have no sympathy for lawbreakers who are willing to be "in our faces lawbreakers" demonstrating in our streets and demanding the rights that citizens don't have. We want them deported and we want a stop to crime, period.

The crime isn't wanting a better life, it is going where you are not invited or welcome. If it wasn't the border of a country it would be called tresspassing. Or more like breaking and entering.
It is never ok to break the law for your own pleasure or desire.

Illegals are illegal no matter if it is the USA or Great Briton.
People employ people who have no right to be in my
country UK,as they do in yours. They are in the fields picking
crops,in restaurants serving food, maybe mowing your
neighbors lawn, all for below legal pay.If we did not
employ them on the cheap they would not come.
So do not employ illegals employ your own citizens
at a fare rate of pay.

great correlation. i'll have to use that one... i've been saying all along that this issue has nothing to do with people wanting a better life for their families nor is it a racial ordeal as some have said... it's about law. we are a society of laws.

Plain & simple....go ahead & deport all immigrants, you'll be doing landscaping or washing dishes the next day....do you really want that? fo course not, besides....all our roots come from immigration, or are you a native AMerican? didn't think so....if some of them are criminals....let's focus on that...we don't need that kind of people messing up. on the other hand, if they are working hard, leave them alone...
