I read a reply from a NS employee and he mentioned the term "weed weasel" Just curious what this is.

"Weed Weasel" is a term applied to railroad officials when out conducting "efficiency testing."

They will observe a crew's performance from out of view, such as behind a bush, around a corner, etc., and usually under cover of darkness. They are looking for rule violations and to visit discipline on anyone caught violating a rule.

"Bush Bunnies" is another term often used. There are many more names, but it would violate community standards to post them here.......
