I became that way when my dog became ill and he was older. I was so scared about his impending death from old age that I worried myself into a depression. A few things that worked for me:
-A great book to invest in is Home veterinary care for Cats (I have the one for dogs) I used it all the time to look anything up when I was worried about Koty. It helped because most of my concerns were nothing to worry about. It also informed me about diseases I was worried about and what warning signs to look for.
-If you are worried about how you will deal with when you cat does pass away, even if it's most likely years away, try thinking about getting the book "The loss of a pet" by Wallace Sife. I got it almost a year before Koty passed from liver and then kidney disease when he first became sick. It did help to know that my feelings were normal and I was just in a state of pre-bereavement.
-If you are anxious about if your cat will go to heaven think about the book "Do dogs go to heaven?" (It's about all pets, not just dogs) by Jean Holms. It really helped me in my faith and showed me that Koty will be waiting for me when we meet again one day.
-Finally, if your feelings for anxiety and worry manifest into depression, think about seeing a therapist. It may be just as simple as talking out your fears or even going on some medication for a little while.
There are also special litters out there that can detect a UTI in your cat but they are pretty expensive. Hopefully, in time, you will realize to enjoy your cat now and not dwell on the inevitable. You are a wonderful pet owner and very observent about your cat.

Wow, it sounds like you really, really care about your cat! I can't believe people are knocking you down because of it.
One thing you can do is start a "cat journal." This way, if anything does happen, you'll have everything you need to immediately tell a vet what they need to know so they can effectively treat your cat. The journal should contain things like:
-The cat's weight-Take it weekly! This history is a valuable tool and often an early indication of illness.
-All medical records, complete vaccination schedule, and any known allergies.
-Preferred foods, also include what a normal feeding schedule is like.
-Any behavior notes-quirks, fears, dislikes, etc.
-Recent photos if your cat ever gets lost. This way, it will be easy to make posters, and easy for local vets and shelters to identify your cat.
You can also do a weekly nose-to-toes checkup. This doesn't have to be a formal exam, disguise it as a love session! Check for signs of illness, such as, discharge from the nose, weight gain or loss, external parasites, lumps, painful areas, etc. Also take a good look at his coat. A happy, healthy cat will have a very shiny, soft coat. Anything other than perfect, is a cause for concern.
I hope I've helped you! It really sounds like you love your cat. Don't let anyone tell you you're crazy for caring so much!

I've done the same thing. After a scare like that, you are hyperaware of everything your cat does and everything is fatal. She sneezes and it's FIP, she sleeps a little extra and you want to rush her to the vet for lethargy. It's important to be aware of your cat's normal behaviors. If you pay attention to these then you can relax because you will know if something changes. And, of course, not all changes warrent a trip to the vet but just use common sense. And remember you can call the vet for advice before you panic and rush your cat down there.

I feel the same way, after a severe urinary tract infection of my cat. What you must do is keep an eye out for any symptoms of not being well:
1. does she eat? If not, go to the vet for tests.
2. Does she drink excessively, more than usual? If so, again go for tests.
3. Is she particularly lethargic?
4. Does she poop Ok? If she doesn't poop in like 3 days, contact the vet.
5. Give her all the necessary vaccinations, deworming, de-fleaing etc. according to the vet's instructions. Spay her and feed her good food, that maintains urinary health.
6. Does she pee OK? If she goes more often and so on, contact the vet for analysis.
7. You can also keep some urine reagent strips and check her urine for invisible blood and PH from time to time.

I used to worry about my pets so much i would make myself sick. It happened after my dog got hit by a car she is ok now but i always worry about her. My advice is to not worry. There is no need to worry. If she does get sick then you should worry about it then. I dont worrry much anymore because it hasn't happened. Normally she will show signs for these things and then take her to the vet. Youa re a really good pet owner. Im glad you care about your cat. If the worst situation happens you are going to have to deal with it then. There is no need to worry about it now. It's heavy to worry all the time. Just enjoy your time with her. Dont worry she is ok.

The only thing you can do is make routine trips to the vet for check ups. If something comes up with your cat between trips, then take her to the vet. There is no use in having a stroke over something you can't control.

You need to realize that things happen to animals that we can't do anything about. You are overly obsessed. You need to get a hobby or something and quit worrying.

Try getting a life. Cats are supposed to ease stress, not cause it.
