Alcohol is lighter than water so beer floats.
Sugar is much heavier than water so sugared beverages sink.

It is the same as with Coke and Diet Coke. The regular sinks a bit while the diet floats. It is the density of the liquid contained in the bottle.

Maybe the M. dew has sugar dissolved in it making it heavier? Or so when drunks drop there beer in the summer while swimming they can find it!!!

Bottles of beer sink... but so do bottles of soda... People here are only looking at the sugar aspect, but may I suggest that every can may not carry exactly 12 ounces of liquid... it depends entirely on the filling machinery calibration as to how much liquid is deposited in those cans... the bigger the air bubble in the can, the better the buoyancy !!!
