My neighbor did tell me once, I just remembered this, that she had called CPS on her sister and instead of doing a surprise visit they called and made an appt. which in turn gave her enough time to clean up the house and get enough of the evidence thrown away or hidden so that CPS had no ground to stand on with the report.

My previous question had to do with her smoking crack and blowing the smoke into her 4 and 1 yr olds faces.

What good is calling CPS on someone if they do that?

Here CPS is supposed to be protecting children, but they do things like this? Come on..it's pretty obvious that they aren't going to catch the parents in the act of doing whatever it is that is putting their child in harm's way. Make an appointment? Wow...that's terrible! They might as well of just told the mother "We're coming over, but at a time that's convenient for you....we'll give you a while to clean up and hide your drugs, that way, you're one less case we have to deal with" PATHETIC!

Instead of cps the next time..call the police when you see her all screwed up and tell them the child is in danger because mom is intoxicated...they will show up and see her crack pipe laying around and take her to jail and the kid to cps.

Valid point!

Although Isuspect for a second complaint and that from a non family member they would be a little more circumspect.

I agree! Why would they do that.
Call the cops, they wouldn't have an appoitment and then they can see what really is going on.
