Are you saying that the female in question is ONE week pregnant? The morning after pill is for the morning after the intercourse took place, not the week or so after.

"The morning-after pill is designed to be taken within 72 hours of intercourse with a second dose taken 12 hours later. Side effects may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fatigue and headache. According to the Food and Drug Administration, the morning-after pill is 80 percent effective in preventing pregnancy after a single act of unprotected sex."

If your "friend" is already one week pregnant, you cannot take the morning after pill to undo the pregnancy. I think you may be asking about the "abortion pill" which is VERY different and is actually aborting an existing pregnancy. Check out the websites below and next time, make sure you do your research before hand.

If you are indeed pregnant the morning after pill won't help you. The first dose of the morning after pill should be taken with 72 hours of unprotected sex and the second dose 12 hours later. The morning after pill is designed to A - keep the sperm from reaching the egg and B - keep the egg from attaching itself to the uterus walls. The morning after pill is not an abortion pill. I suggest going to see your doctor or visiting a planned parenthood clinic.

The morning after pill is designed to make your uterus unsuitable for implantation. So if it's already implanted and you are pregnant, nothing is likely to happen.
