Start by running/jogging/(whatever it takes to keep your heart rate up) for 45-60 minutes 5-6 days a week if possible. By doing over 30 minutes of cardio, your body will go from burning carbs (which is what it does in the first 30 minutes of cardio) to burning fat. This will make you burn more fat and get faster results.

Cut down on junk food, I'm sure you know what's good for you and what's bad for your, drink at least 2litres of water a day, and take some form of excercise for 30 mins a day. You could walk, swim, ride a bike, tennis, gardening, whatever you like, as long as your working harder than you would normally be doing during that 30 mins. Eat fresh veg and fruit, make sure your meat/chicken is lean, try to have two portions of non-fried fish per week (salmon, tuna, trout etc). Make sure you get your calcium, either through low fat yoghurt or skimmed milk, or low fat cheese. Fruit juices can be very high in sugar, so it's best to eat fresh fruit and drink water. The more water you can drink the better. Start taking the stairs instead of an elevator, get off the bus a couple of stops early, or park a few streets away from where you're going.
There's lots of ways to make small changes that will make a difference, not just to your weight, but your overall health.
