Absolutely YES YES YES YES YES YES> YOU can see it in every church almost you walk into today. Even the very elect are being deceived. SO much eastern philosophy, and false religion has entered our Churches, and you can hear a pastor saying something he wouldnt have said two years ago. They teach in seminaries so many truths, but at the same time, error is creeping in just as God said it would. To where today they refuse to preach obeidience even. We dont have to be like Jesus and it cant be dont anyhow, grace covers all continued willful sin. Hogwash, for lack of a better word. When asked about that, what was the response GOD FORBID. Grace doesnt cover continued willful deliberate sin, never did and never will Jesus died so we may live and be free from sin, not be FREE TO SIN> HOgwash. lies of the devil are creeping in all over the place. To whre they now teach God is a woman, and even in some churches, they said God is a lesbain woman. on and on it goes, and its all cntrary to the word of God. PPL may use other books to believe, but if we believe in The God of the Holy Bible, we follow only what HE says. Listen in most churches today, you are lucy to find any two believiing the same thing, no matter what church you are in. Yes, this is the last day deception God warned us about. OUr only safety is to stay in the Holy Word of God and obey what God tells us to obey. Its not about me, or you or even a pastor. ITs only what God says, and in the Bible He tells us there is only one pure undefiled religion, that is the one with the full teachings of Jesus Christ, that He was here and will come again. HE died that we may live. He suffered that we woulnt have to. And He gave us the power to overcome sin by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. We are commanded to live ike Jesus Christ. All in the Bible, not my words, but HIS. When ppl preach anything other than the Bible, they may have their own religions, but the God of the Bible says to be a christian you must do this, and He lists it all. Not HIs fault if we wont learn it and obey it.
Jesus is coming soon. The great deception and falling away is already here, and its getting worse. The only safety net is to stay in the will and the blessings of God, by perfect obeidnece, and yes it can be done, or God wouldnt call us to do that. speak up ppl and keep telling the world about Jesus Chrsit. THey dont have long to find Him, and remind them how eager God is to forgive and give them a brand new start with a whole new heart to love and forgive and serve Jesus. I am anxious to see how many will respond with truth. SO many today dilluded due to the falling away, and few will agree with me anymore. But still I stand for the full word of God. That we are called to do, STAND. b e redy for Jesus to come and stay ready... STAND>

Absolutely. Many (perhaps most) of the churches are more like community centers than places or worship. Messages are diluted by political correctness or "changing times."
Based on what passes for entertainment in our culture, I've pretty much come to the conclusion that there are many, many, many fewer believers in the US than there are people who claim to be. That junk wouldn't be on our screens if people didn't watch it, and 83% of Americans claim to be Christian. The numbers do not add up.
I'm less familiar with the worldwide condition, but I'd be very surprised if it was different.

Yes, as I understand your phrase "Great Falling Away". I think over the next generation we will witness large numbers of Christians and Muslims (primarily) turning away from their religions and pursuing atheism, naturalism and philosophies such as Zen.
According to adherents.com, there are 1.1 billion non-religious people on Earth today. This group can be divided into atheists, agnostics and secularists. I predict by mid century, in free countries* this number will double.
* in the remaining theocratic states, chiefly Muslim, there will be a slower trend in this direction, due to fear of persecution.

i think God put the great falling away up to us. i think it has been going on for a while now. it is a gradual process i think that will span over years until we have brought it upon ourselves. with global warming, worldwide terrorism, and all the natural disasters that has been coming on...i think we are entering into something. maybe it is just a warning for us to get our act together as the human race before we do enter into the great falling away.

I've never seen the kind of hostility toward Christianity in the USA as I'm seeing on Yahoo Answers. If this site is any indication of the thinking of today's youth, we've got a rough road ahead. Today's young knuckleheads will be tomorrow's leaders.

I take it you mean from religion.
No there are more people involved in religion now than ever in history.
Some religions are waining and others are increasing.
Sad isn't it that in this age so many people have to believe in superstition to be able to tolerate themselves.
So many so well schooled and yet very poorly educated.

People have been falling away from org. rel. since the 50's, the last of the age of innocence when people believed all that claptrap without question. Once the boomers are retired it will be speeded up.

I never heard of it put that way before.
However..we are entering into "God Lifting His Hand of Protection" from those countries that dishonor Him and think that they have become great because of their own knowledge.

If you spend a lot of time here on Yahoo it would appear that we are. If you look around outside of you computer It doesn't look so bad. But then again, Jesus could return today.
