The telephone is your best bet. You don't have to leave your name if you don't want to, (though it may be harder for the police to investigate if you don't) and you can make sure that they get the info they need.

Many places have anonymous tip lines you can call as well.

Failing that, write a letter and mail it to them, (no return address if you don't want) or just leave it at the station for an officer to read.

**Edit**

Sweetheart, I just read your added details... I am SO SORRY that happened to you. In addition to the above sources, there are a bunch of rape crisis hotlines nationwide. They are staffed by professionals (many of whom have had that same horrible experience). That may be another way to get the info you need in a non-threatening way.

RAINN has a nationwide hotline at 800-656-4673.

Go to your police station and ask to speak to someone about a personal problem. You can ask for a male or female officer and pour your heart out without having to bring charges against anyone. The police aren't there just to arrest people, they are there to help anyone.

I really cannot urge you enough to go to and speak to the police; they have trained officers that deal with rape in a professional and empathetic manner.

If you really cannot bare to speak to the police yet please call the Rape Crisis charity; I have put the link below so that you can look up on their website your local advice centre for their telephone number. They will be able to advise you and provide you with the support you need at this time.

Please call them, rape is a serious crime and you really need to talk to someone who can help you.

Whether you are male or female, rape is against the law.

Do a 141 on your phone and then the police number they will not know it is you, and ask them for a local email address.

You are not alone.

Call and ask to talk to a female officer or detective they cannot do anything about charges like this without your wanting to press them. You have nothing to worry about and I'm sorry to hear this has happened.
