You can not "MAKE" yourself go to sleep. In/with the right circumstances it will just happen.
For example if you stay up 24+hrs it will happen, sometimes at the wrong times-smile.
I find that sniffing a mixture of "Grain Alcohol" and Lavender oil really helps/works. I also spay it around the bed/room on to artificial flowers etc. Reading a book, turning on soft relaxing meditation CDs or a CD with soft rain/nature sounds playing.

Be side's the obvious..ie J/o. What always puts me to sleep is visualizing my self alone on a sail boat sailing around the world with no site of land at all just sailing along...sooo boring it always puts me to sleep

ok there is no sure fire way to get yourself to sleep withoutmedication. but i find this helps.......
when you yawn its because your body is slowing down preparing to sleep, you can bring this on by long slow breathing and then the body thinks its time to sleep and starts to shut down

if this doesnt work, try a long bath and do something to help you chill...a nice book helps me

Counting backwards from numbers like 10,000 works or you can do math problems that are difficult for you in your head, both works from me.
